vernicci single pack paint coatings. vernicci Single Pack Paint Coatings are available in a myriad of different colours and specifications. The range of uses is bewildering. Generally speaking single pack industrial paint coatings are used for aesthetic purposes where an inexpensive industrial quality coating is required to give the end product a more acceptable appearance. They are not usually intended for heavy duty applications. e.g. Digger buckets, skips, cranes, moving components. Single pack (1K or one pack) paint coatings are not catalysed or hardened. Usually a thinner is added (but not always) to enable the material to be sprayed. The resulting coating cures physically by evaporation of the solvent leaving a coating layer (nb this is a very simplistic explanation).  Single Pack Industrial Paint coatings are extremely popular as they are quick drying, tolerant to a huge variety of applications even in very poor conditions and have given rise to a number of very specialised paint coatings. Quick Drying Zinc phosphate primers are very popular as they produce a very good build with good adhesion properties and excellent opacity. The quality of the primer finish affects the look of the topcoat, and these fast drying primers produce a very acceptable result. Direct to Metal finish is a coating which effectively is a coloured coating with a medium or high build which can be applied to a bare steel substrate. The coatings are very popular for use on components which need a reasonable aesthetic appearance. The substrate needs normal preparation (see TDS first) before application and is applied to opacity (i.e. until the substrate is covered) it then dries off and is ready for use.  Single Pack enamel coatings are designed where a higher gloss finish is expected. These enamel finishes have a much harder finish and tend to have a higher gloss look. A good example of usage would be Agricultural Vehicles, Plant, Wheelbarrows, sack trucks, wheels and the like. Single pack Vinyl Coatings are based on a vinyl resin and are designed to adhere to ferrous and non ferrous substrates without the need for a primer (i.e.ferrous meaning steel or ironwork for example and non ferrous meaning galvanised).
